The Rolling Stones to Play Two Dates At the London O2

The band, originating from Dartford, is apparently set to perform two dates at the London venue according to a Billboard source.
The Stones recently celebrated their 50th anniversary, forming way back in 1962, and are generally regarded as the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed act in the history of popular music, having sold more than 200 million albums worldwide.
The antithesis of rock and roll, the Stones provided the anti-family friendly appearance provided by Epstein’s suit clad Beatles and backed the lifestyle with a series of provocative acts that proved the bad boy image was more than just an image, leading to the slogan ‘Would you let your daughter marry a Rolling Stone?’
Fans will have been disappointed after members of the band announced earlier this year that they would not be touring to celebrate the golden jubilee of the group, but news of four tour dates in November, two in the UK two in the US, looks set to change all of this. The news also provides a further indication that the rumours concerning the band as a possible choice of headliner at next year’s Glastonbury may very well be true.
For lovers of British music the Stones were a noticeable omission from the Olympic ceremonies but the news of performances in London and the continually growing reality of the band playing Glastonbury 2013 will mean fans everywhere will be coming out the wood work to paint the town ... well black I suppose.
