A new weekly hangout for West End actors, dancers, choreographers, singers, musicians, cast, crew, directors, producers, stage management, students, agents, casting agents, technical and front of house staff. All theatre folk are invited to Glam Jam!
Hosted by Lady Imelda and her show partner CJ, Glam Jam is an intimate piano-and-vocals cabaret, a live musical revue: a glitzy, glamorous night of memories, wonderful songs, razor-sharp wit, fabulous gowns and impromptu performances! Glam Jam already has a strong following, and its new home is the beautiful, newly-refurbished Escape: this tiny bar provides a theatre-in-the-round experience, and Glam Jam revives the spirit of the legendary Piano Bar which once stood upon this very spot.
Expect a galaxy of show tunes, excerpts from classic shows, and plenty of laughs with your hosts. Lady Imelda and CJ are both theatre pros and have appeared in countless West End shows; there will be acting, singing and ad libbing; plus special guests selected from among the West End’s finest performers. Audience members will also be welcome to strut their stuff!
Glam Jam runs from 11pm - 2am; Escape is open as normal until 3am with resident DJs before and after the show playing anything from the Black-Eyed Peas to Shirley Bassey!
Entry is free with flyer before midnight and there are good offers on drinks all night.
Part of the proceeds will go to the Theatrecares charity, which distributes funds to many HIV and AIDS-oriented projects in the UK and Africa. Cabarets have been a mainstay of Theatrecares' fundraising for many years and to date it has raised over £2 million for those affected by HIV and AIDS.
